A special court on Wednesday for the 2006 Mumbai Serial Train Blasts which took in local trains the Blast killed almost 188 people and injured 829 commuters. The court has sentenced five convicts for death sentence and seven convicts for life term. The judgment came after few days 12 people were found guilty.
The prosecution was looking for the death sentence for the eight of the convicts and life imprisonment for four of convicts in the local train blast on July 11, 2006. The blast had shaken the nation from it's core.
The special court of Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act which had convicted five of them for planting the bomb in the local trains the names of theses convicts are Faisal Sheikh, Asif Khan, Kamal Ansari, Ehtesham Sidduqui and Naveed Khan.
The controversy which had begun after Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) first they claimed that in its charge sheet in November, 2006 that as the operation was carried out by the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba which were even helped by the SIMI.
However the Defense advocate said that they are going to go at higher court where they are going get justice for his Clients. After almost 10 years of court case the convicts have been charged.
